Simon Kranzer was born in Salzburg, Austria. He graduated from Salzburg University of Applied Sciences with a masters degree in telecommunication engineering, then with a degree in computer science from University of Salzburg. He is working as an independent software developer for more than 20 years and is teaching programming and industrial informatics since 2004. Simon defined and leaded several national and international research projects and published several scientific papers and articles in industrial magazines. Currently, Simon’s research focus is on OT security, smart factories and the underlying data strategies. Digital twins are an essential goal because, as digital representations, they form the basis for many new experiments.
