Dr. Silvia Cristina Stegaru
co-founder of Codette and Software Engineer in Bitdefender's Cyber Threat Intelligence Lab
Dr. Silvia Cristina Stegaru is one of the Codette co-founders and Software Engineer in Bitdefender’s Cyber Threat Intelligence Lab.
Encompassing over 10 years of experience as a community leader, from creating workshop resources to coordinating teams for organizing events, Silvia has contributed to both national and international programs (Codette programs, “Learn IT, Girl!” international mentorship program etc). An active member of the tech community, Silvia proudly supports the goal to raise the number of women in IT&C through inspiring, guiding and connecting them within the community, with diversity and inclusion at the core. Her activity gained her recognition from the US State Department and as one of the Forbes Romania “30 under 30”.
She has activated as a researcher and teaching assistant for close to a decade within University Politehnica of Bucharest, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers. Currently, she is an associate teaching assistant, helping to bridge the gap between courseware and skills useful after graduation. In October 2018 she successfully defended her PhD thesis, “Modeling, monitoring and optimizing energy efficiency in buildings”.
In 2018, Silvia joined the Cyber Threat Intelligence Lab team at Bitdefender, in the anti-malware department. She has an active interest for indicators of compromise, as well as topics from the realm of forensics and anti-forensics.
